About This Position

Blue Ridge Property Buyers is hiring a Generalist Carpenter/Handyman to join our house flipping crew. We buy, renovate, and sell homes across the Roanoke area — and we need someone who can take a punch list and knock it out without being babysat.

You'll work on one house at a time, not drive across town for scattered service calls. This is real project work — hanging doors, installing vanities, trim, drywall patching, deck repairs, and getting houses market-ready.

We're looking for someone with common sense and hand skills who can watch something once, figure it out, and get it done. Our project manager Cameron is laid-back and easy to work with — he'll tell you what needs done, not how to hold a screwdriver.

What You'll Do

Finish carpentry: trim, quarter round, door hanging, hinges, doorknobs
Install vanities, toilets, and plumbing fixtures
Patch drywall and do touch-up painting
Install light fixtures, outlets, and switch covers
Hang shutters and do minor exterior work (downspouts, gutter nails)
Small deck repairs: replacing boards, posts, handrails
Vinyl siding repair and brick mold repair as needed
Install cabinet knobs, microwaves, and appliances
Caulking and detail work to get houses market-ready
Clean up when the job's done (vacuuming, windows)

What We Offer

$25/hour

40 hours/week guaranteed

Monday - Friday schedule

One job site per day (no bouncing around town)

Company card provided — no out-of-pocket expenses

1 week paid vacation after 1 year

Work directly with Cameron, a laid-back project manager who won't micromanage

Potential to grow into a lead role as we scale

What We're Looking For

Handyman or residential construction experience (even remodeling your own bathroom counts)
Basic hand tools + your own drill/impact driver
Reliable transportation (truck preferred but not required)
Ability to work independently — figure it out, don't wait to be told
Comfortable with ladders, crawl spaces, and attics
Can lift vanities and materials (occasional 50+ lb items)
Attention to detail — we're getting houses ready for market
Trustworthy — you'll have a company card and access to job sites
Willing to clean up after the work is done

Location Requirement

Must live within 30 minutes of Roanoke, VA. Job sites are throughout the Roanoke Valley area.
