About This Position

Jewel Machinery is hiring a shop technician to work on construction equipment including compaction equipment, mini excavators, skid steers, and more.

Work includes mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and fabrication tasks. This is approximately 80% physical labor, 20% technical thinking — with a variety of work that keeps things interesting. Not repetitive.

Growth opportunity: Entry level starts at $17-20/hr. With 5+ years experience, earn $22-25/hr. Get certified and earn up to $30/hr. Top out at $45/hr.

What You'll Do

Diagnose and repair mechanical systems on construction equipment
Troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic systems
Fabrication work as needed
Work on compaction equipment, mini excavators, skid steers, and more
Maintain and service equipment to manufacturer specifications
Use diagnostic tools and equipment

What We're Looking For

Valid driver's license
Basic hand tools
Mechanic experience (any background — auto, diesel, heavy equipment, ag)
State inspection certification (highly desired)
Welding experience (preferred)

Location

Rocky Mount, VA — Must be able to commute to the shop.
