About This Position

Jewel Machinery is a construction equipment dealer hiring a parts counter salesperson. You'll be the go-to person for customers and service technicians who need the right parts for compaction equipment, mini excavators, skid steers, and other heavy machinery. This role carries a monthly sales target of $75,000 in parts — you're not just handing parts over the counter, you're actively selling and recommending solutions.

If you have strong mechanical knowledge AND can hold a conversation with a contractor, this role is for you. Hydraulic knowledge is a big plus. They want someone who understands the equipment well enough to suggest the right part, the upgraded part, or the preventive maintenance part before the customer even asks.

This is a sales role, not just a warehouse role. They're looking for someone who can identify customer needs and recommend solutions.

What You'll Do

Assist walk-in customers, contractors, and service technicians with parts identification and purchases
Accurately identify heavy equipment parts using manufacturer software, catalogs, and technical resources
Answer incoming phone calls promptly and professionally
Proactively suggest related, upgraded, or preventive maintenance parts to support customer uptime
Meet or exceed $75,000 minimum monthly parts sales goal
Maintain accurate parts pricing lists per manufacturer and company guidelines
Update and maintain electronic parts files
Process and track parts warranty claims with documentation to the Warranty Department
Monitor outstanding returns and ensure credits for returned parts
Keep parts counter, showroom, and storage areas clean and organized
Maintain records of all sales transactions and file invoice copies

What We're Looking For

Strong customer service and communication skills — this is a sales role, not just a warehouse role
Working knowledge of heavy equipment parts and components (construction or agricultural preferred)
Ability to read parts diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer catalogs
Hydraulic knowledge preferred
Basic computer proficiency — must be able to learn dealer parts management software
Sales-oriented mindset — identify customer needs and recommend solutions
Organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Professional appearance consistent with company standards
Team-oriented, positive attitude
